Well, come to the Part 3 of 2012 Fishing Review, BARRAMUNDI FRENZY!!! I think picture explained more that words, so here you go...
The day that make me happy...
14 September 2012, went to a place that i used to go, want to relax and have a peace of mind, and of course wish to get some fresh proteins supply. As usual, wake up early in the morning, get everything ready in my car and start my journey to fishing which take me about one hour to reach the destination. Is a sunny day, luckily i have some ice and Liang Tea with me. Haha..
Not much action at the spots that always give us some strikes, without wasting time, i try to look for some other spot hoping to have some surprises. Suddenly i received a strong strike on my small small hook that i use to hook Spotted Scat, i can't do any thing as it doesn't give me any chance to fight back with its powerful sprint. So the fish win the first battle today but never mind, i was excited after all! Haha. Change to another rod with Owner 1/0 Cutting Point hook, try my luck at the same spot just now, and you know what, i directly received a strong strike again! My experience told me is Barramundi that keep pulling out my Pe line from my reel. I just control the rod's direction because the space is quite small and start reel in the line slowly, and a Barramundi appeared on the surface the water. Using my hand to catch it and officially declared that this battle won by me! Haha.
Well, what do you know, my timing really at the right time because i keep receiving strikes at the same spot, which make me really busy running here and there to take the bait and put the fish in the cage. Getting too excited with this phenomenon, as some of the strike only last for few seconds by the time i try to fight back. Total i received more than 10 strikes, which is Barramundi and i managed to landed 6 of them. Suppose i can landed 7, but when the fish appeared on the surface of the water, it managed to escape itself by a powerful sprint while i try to lift it up just by fishing rod. This experience taught me not to underestimated the strength of Barramundi. Well, with 6 Barramundi on my hand, nothing to complain anymore! Haha...
Barramundi on hand! Say 'Hi' to the camera!
Such a wonderful fishing trip that i have today! Even though the weather is hot, i suffered some sun burn but it is worth it! Another thing is i do gained some precious experiences, skills and theories of getting Barramundi at this place, and hopefully i can keep improving myself.
Fresh proteins supply+satisfaction!
As a conclusion, for me, fishing is not only about how big or how many fish you get but it also train me to be patient, be sensitive and alert of things around. And of course, don't forget to take care of own safety. Here goes the "2012 Fishing Review", hope to experience some more excitements in 2013!!!!
